Job Posting: MEP Designer Engineer

Tasks: Developing plumbing designs on projects including commercial, residential, and tenant improvement works. Design domestic water, waste, vent, and gas piping systems. Conduct meetings with building departments to obtain drawing approval. Ability to lead small projects and report to project manager for medium to large project.  Ability to interface with clients for plumbing related inquiries. Performing plumbing engineering evaluations, site visits, conceptual and final design, and engineering calculations. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, California Plumbing and Mechanical Codes and other international design codes. Interfacing and working with clients in a professional manner to achieve project goals. Daily tasks include interaction with plan checkers, engineers and architects. Report progress to senior staff and firm principals. Developing sustainable building services designs on numerous major projects including commercial residential infrastructure and mixed-use development. Performing engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, conceptual and final design, and engineering calculations. Researching, planning, designing and developing sustainable mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, and gas distribution systems. Preparation of mechanical engineering calculations in support of systems design.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related and 24 months experience in job offered or as a Plumbing Designer, MEP Coordinator, MEP Drafter or related occupation.
