In this major renovation of the existing worship center, the entire interior of the building was rotated 90 degrees in order to increase the capacity of the space. The improvements amounted to a complete gut and redo of the church interior. LRA provided complete electrical engineering for the building.
Improvements included:
- Additional electrical distribution for audio/video
- Conduit systems for new video production spaces, control booth, and stage
- Stage lighting, general lighting, emergency egress lighting
- UPS system to serve critical A/V loads and house lighting
- New lobby and book store
- Lighting control system
- K-rated transformer for sensitive equipment
- Connection of new HVAC systems
Pasadena Convention Center
LRA has been involved in ongoing improvements in the Center, including the renovation of the Exhibit Hall. LRA has provided complete MEP engineering for the renovations.
LRA has been involved in ongoing improvements in the center, including the renovation of the Exhibit Hall. LRA provided complete MEP engineering for the project. With the A/E team led by Onyx Architects, the renovations included upgrades to the house lighting system, lighting controls, show power distribution, and restroom facilities.
The improvements earned LRA and the design team a Pasadena Historic Preservation award. The aesthetic of the space is maintained while bringing much needed modernization to accommodate new exhibitors from around the world.
More recently, LRA provided engineering for upgrades to the Exhibit Hall's HVAC and Electrical systems, including:
DDC controls
Compliance with current ventilation requirements
CO2 monitoring
Tie-in to the district heating and cooling system.
Electrical service upgrade for the Exhibit Hall / Auditorium complex.

The recreational center renovation for the City of Sierra Madre brought much needed upgrades to the community building, including air conditioning the previously unconditioned space, electric vehicle chargers, ADA restroom upgrades, and a host of audio/video capabilities for meetings and public gatherings.

New Design Charter School
The existing three-story building was previously occupied by medical office spaces. Now it is home to a campus for the New Design Charter School, with classrooms, offices, outdoor activity areas, and detached prefab classroom buildings.

Now it is home to a campus for the New Design Charter School, with two stories of classrooms, a top floor for administrative use, outdoor activity areas, and detached prefabricated classroom buildings. LRA provided complete MEP engineering for this exemplary adaptive reuse project.
LRA is proud to have been a part of many New Design's construction projects. In addition to the campus at on Avalon, the main downtown campus has expanded to include more classrooms and a remodel and addition to the administrative facilities. Currently, renovations to an unoccupied church and Sunday school in Los Angeles, will transform the buildings into more classrooms for the growing organization.

LRA provided complete Electrical Engineering on this 60,000 square foot aerospace parts manufacturing plant. This interior tenant improvement features electric heat treat ovens, welding stations, machining, testing, and inspection facilities. The tenant is a worldwide company with many roles in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
LRA also provided Electrical Engineering for the shell and core as well, working with the City of Burbank to provide a 4000A, 480V service to serve the future manufacturing tenant.
